I am at a community meeting in which a Mitchell Lama co-op owner just went on a rant about how homeowners view things differently than renters and then asked the state elected in attendance to give co-op owners like him more money. Homeownership is a degenerative brain disease.

also non-profit, cooperative, and public housing providers are also landlords. Landlord is a description of an inherently adversarial relationship between those who own property (and are ostensibly responsible for its upkeep) and those who ~rent that property from them.

I look at real estate listings all day – If there’s a squatter in a building, an agent will almost always mention it, as they don’t want to waste time with buyers who aren’t prepared to deal with a situation like that.
